AWS Console Simultaneous Sign-in

๐Ÿ”„ Multi-Session Support in AWS Console

In this lecture, weโ€™ll explore Multi-Session Support in the AWS Management Console โ€” a powerful feature that allows you to use multiple AWS accounts or roles within the same browser.

If you manage multiple accounts (which is very common in real-world AWS environments), this feature is a game changer.

๐Ÿš€ Enabling Multi-Session Support

  1. Go to your AWS Console

  2. Click on your account name (top-right corner)

  3. Enable Multi-session support

๐Ÿ‘‰ Once enabled, you can:

  • Stay logged into one account

  • Add another session

  • Sign in to a different account or role

  • All within the same browser

โž• Adding a New Session

After enabling the feature:

  1. Click your account menu (top-right)

  2. Select Add session

  3. Enter:

    • Account ID or account alias

    • Username and Password

You are now logged into a second AWS identity

๐Ÿ‘€ Viewing Multiple Accounts Simultaneously

After signing in:

๐Ÿ‘‰ Each tab is its own logged-in session โ€” you'll see different user IDs in each.

This means:

  • You're not switching accounts

  • You're running multiple sessions at the same time

Earlier, this took workarounds like:

  • Incognito windows

  • Multiple browsers

  • Logging in and out repeatedly

Now, it works directly in the console โ€” no extra steps needed.
