Python Mastery – From Basics to Brilliance / Object-Oriented Programming (OOP)

Encapsulation, Polymorphism, Abstraction

🔐 Encapsulation

  • Bundles data (variables) and methods into a single unit (class).

  • Prevents external interference by restricting direct access to some components.

✅ Use getters/setters to access or modify private values safely.

🎭 Polymorphism

  • Allows same method name to behave differently for different classes.

  • Enables flexible and generic code.

✅ This is method overriding — the method sound() behaves differently for each object.

🧊 Abstraction

  • Focuses on what an object does, not how it does it.

  • Hides internal details to reduce complexity.

  • Implemented using abstract classes (abc module in Python).

✅ Abstract classes cannot be instantiated; only their subclasses can be.

🧬 Inheritance (Recap)

  • Allows one class to inherit attributes and methods from another.

  • Enables code reuse and a hierarchical relationship.

class Animal:
    def speak(self):
        print("Some sound")

class Dog(Animal):
    def bark(self):
        print("Woof")

🧱 Pillar

🚀 Concept

🧩 Purpose

🔐 Encapsulation

Restricts access using private variables

Security + controlled access

🧬 Inheritance

One class inherits from another

Code reuse + hierarchy

🎭 Polymorphism

Same method name, different behavior

Flexibility + dynamic behavior

🧊 Abstraction

Hides details, shows only essentials

Simplifies complex systems
